Making progress
General information, guides, and recommendations on planning your studies sustainably can be found on the website of the Student Services service unit − including the dates for the current academic year, the basics of academic organisation, and the registration for your next semester through payment of tuition fees.
Furthermore, you have the freedom to shape your studies in certain areas, for example through the required elective modules of your degree programme, studying abroad, co-registering or getting admission to other programmes, or by further developing your soft skills as a mentor in the credit-bearing mentoring programme.
Recommended paths of study
While you are free to choose which courses to take in which semester (provided the relevant prerequisites are met), the curricula for degree programmes at the faculty also specify a recommended study path.
The recommended study path takes into account any prerequisites between courses and the course offerings in the winter or summer semester, ensuring that you can graduate within the standard duration of study. Progress along the recommended study path is also taken into account when allocating seats for courses with continuous assessment.
You can find a visualisation of the respective study path for your degree programme in the overview of our degree programmes.
Courses & exams
Basic information about the registration process for courses and exams can be found on the information pages for the University’s registration system. To ensure effective planning and implementation, students at the faculty should be aware of further specific considerations regarding registration.
