Directorate of Studies

The Directorate of Studies (SPL) carries out both direct and delegated tasks relating to the smooth running of the degree programmes. It answers enquiries regarding academic regulations for its respective degree programmes.

It is supported in this by the team at the StudiesServiceCenter (SSC) Computer Science, the first point of contact for administrative matters relating to the degree programme.

Directorate of Studies 5

The SPL 5 (Computer Science and Business Informatics) is responsible for all Bachelor's and Master's programmes and for the teacher training programme in the fields of computer science and business informatics.

SPL 50

The SPL 50 (Doctoral Programme in Computer Science) is responsible for doctoral programmes in the fields of computer science and business informatics.

Responsibilites of the directorate of studies

The section of the University of Vienna’s statutes relating to academic regulations sets out specific tasks that are directly assigned to the programme director.

In addition to these direct responsibilities, the SPL also undertakes a range of further tasks in accordance with study law and the University Act, which are delegated by the Studienpräses, thereby transferring decision-making authority to the SPL.

All tasks are carried out by the SPL in collaboration with the StudiesServiceCenter.
