Teacher Education: Switching to a New Degree Programme
On October 1, 2026, the curricula for the new teacher education programmes (BEd and MEd) will take effect.
On the Teacher Education website, you will find general information for teacher education students regarding:
- Programme structure
- Timing of the transition
- Transition process (affiliation)
- Tuition fees, tolerance semesters, …
In the following, “old” refers to the teacher education programme current through the 2026 summer semester (8+4 semesters, 240+120 ECTS) or the UF DGI within this programme, while “new” refers to the teacher education programme starting in the 2026 fall semester or the UF DGI starting in the 2026 fall semester.
Information Session and Counseling Services
The SPL 5 is hosting an informational session on the transition to the new curriculum
This session will be held in a hybrid format and recorded. If you are unable to attend, a link to the recording will be available here after the event.

Bachelor's Degree in Teaching: Digital Literacy and Computer Science (2026 Version)
Here you will find all information on the sub-curriculum “Digital Literacy and Computer Science” (Version 2026) as well as the sub-curriculum “Digital Literacy and Computer Science” (Version 2026).
- Please note: The subjects Digital Literacy and Computer Science now constitute two sub-curricula within a so-called subject bundle consisting of three sub-curricula. A Bachelor’s degree programme in teacher education with the UF DGI new therefore lasts 7 semesters (instead of 6 semesters as in the other UF new). Specifically, Block I in the UF DGI new comprises 90 ECTS credits and not 60 ECTS credits as in the other UF new. Block I and Block IIa therefore comprise a total of 115 ECTS credits (instead of 85 ECTS credits). The 90 ECTS credits from the old UF DGI (excluding teaching practicum) are therefore not sufficient to cover Block I and Block IIa.
- The reference table shows you which courses from the old UF DGI will be recognized for the new UF DGI in accordance with the Recognition Ordinance.
