Tenure-Track Professor in the field of Theoretical Computer Science

We are looking for an outstanding computer scientist with an excellent track record in Theoretical Computer Science, documented by publications in relevant top-tier conferences and/or journals and a proven ability to conduct successful independent research. We are especially interested in (but not limited to) candidates with expertise in one or more of the following subareas: theoretical foundations of privacy and fairness in algorithm design, cryptography, (fine-grained) complexity theory, computational geometry, algorithmic game theory, computational social choice, or learning theory. We expect the successful candidate to complement our existing expertise in theory and applications of algorithms, to contribute substantially to the continuously growing success of this area, and to foster collaborations with other members of the Faculty of Computer Science. Tenure-Track Professor in the field of Information Systems Engineering

We are looking for an outstanding computer scientist with an excellent track record who studies design, development, implementation, and management of complex information systems. This involves combining concepts, principles, and techniques from information systems, software engineering, and other relevant areas within Computer Science, such as cybersecurity or data management. Potential focus topics are (but are not limited to) designing and developing enterprise information systems that meet the requirements of organizations, users, and stakeholders; studying trade-offs between functional, non-functional, user, and security/privacy requirements; or exploring the design of next-generation distributed software systems and other relevant software technologies that provide a basis for overcoming important business and societal challenges. Tenure-Track Professor in the field of Business Informatics – Intelligent Information Systems

We are looking for an outstanding scientist in the area of Business Informatics with a particular focus on intelligent information systems, which are required for the future convergence of the digital and the physical world. Special subareas of interest include, but are not limited to: design and software development methodologies, formalization of domain-specific knowledge, explainability, model-based software aspects, trust and transparency, as well as architectures of intelligent information systems for disruptive environments. Research activities are expected to contribute to the transdisciplinary intersection of computer science and business as well as to the application of intelligent information systems to solve business challenges. Academic profile of the candidate

  • Doctoral degree/PhD
  • Two years of international research experience during or after doctoral studies
  • Outstanding research achievements, excellent publication and funding record, international reputation
  • Experience in designing of and participating in research projects, ability to lead research groups and acquire third-party funding
  • Enthusiasm for excellent teaching and supervision at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral level
  • Acquisition of sufficient German language skills for teaching in bachelor programs and participation in university committees within three years
